3-Ingredient Crescent Brie Bites

Buttery, Melty, and Ridiculously Easy Party Appetizers

There are certain appetizers that make people believe you spent far more time in the kitchen than you actually did.

These 3-Ingredient Crescent Brie Bites are one of them.

The first thing you notice is the warm, buttery aroma of crescent dough baking in the oven. Then the little pastry cups begin turning golden around the edges while the Brie hidden inside becomes wonderfully soft and creamy.

And finally, there's that small spoonful of sweet cranberry sauce on top.

Buttery pastry.

Warm, melted Brie.

Sweet and slightly tart cranberry.

Three simple ingredients that somehow taste like they belong on an elegant holiday appetizer tray.

I started making these little bites when I needed something quick for a family gathering and had absolutely no desire to spend the afternoon preparing complicated finger foods. I wanted an appetizer that looked beautiful, could be eaten in one or two bites, and—most importantly—wouldn't leave me washing dishes until bedtime.

These disappeared before I had even finished arranging the rest of the food.

Now I keep the recipe close whenever the holidays arrive.

And yes.

You really only need three ingredients.

Why You'll Love These Crescent Brie Bites

This is one of those recipes that checks nearly every box for an easy appetizer.

  • Only 3 ingredients
  • Ready in about 25 minutes
  • Buttery and golden
  • Warm, creamy cheese center
  • Perfect sweet and savory flavor
  • Easy to make in a mini muffin pan
  • Beautiful for holiday parties
  • Simple enough for beginners
  • Easy to customize
  • Best served warm from the oven

The biggest problem?

You may want to make a double batch.

People have a habit of eating one, walking away, and then quietly returning for another.

What Are Crescent Brie Bites?

Crescent Brie Bites are miniature pastry cups made with refrigerated crescent roll dough.

Small pieces of dough are pressed into a mini muffin pan and filled with Brie cheese and cranberry sauce.

As they bake, the crescent dough puffs and becomes golden.

The Brie softens into a rich, creamy center.

And the cranberry sauce warms and settles over the cheese.

They're similar to baked Brie, but in individual portions.

No knife required.

No crackers needed.

No crowd gathered around one wheel of cheese trying to politely cut a piece while someone else waits.

Everyone simply grabs a little Brie bite and enjoys it.

The Three Ingredients You'll Need

This recipe makes approximately 24 mini Brie bites.

1. Refrigerated Crescent Roll Dough

You'll need:

1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Traditional crescent roll dough works perfectly.

If you can find crescent dough sheets without perforations, they're even easier to work with.

However, regular crescent rolls are completely fine.

Simply pinch the seams together before cutting the dough.

2. Brie Cheese

You'll need:

8 ounces Brie cheese

Brie is the creamy heart of this recipe.

When warmed, it becomes wonderfully soft and luxurious.

You don't need the most expensive Brie at the cheese counter.

A simple grocery store wheel works beautifully.

3. Cranberry Sauce

You'll need approximately:

½ cup cranberry sauce

Whole berry cranberry sauce is my favorite.

The little pieces of cranberry give the finished bites a beautiful appearance and slightly more texture.

Homemade cranberry sauce is wonderful if you already have some.

But canned cranberry sauce works perfectly.

This is supposed to be an easy recipe, after all.

Do I Need to Remove the Rind from Brie?

This may be the most common question about baked Brie recipes.

The answer is:

No.

The white rind on Brie is edible.

It also helps the little cubes of cheese hold their shape while you're assembling the bites.

When baked, the rind softens.

Most people barely notice it in the finished appetizer.

However, if you strongly dislike the texture or flavor of Brie rind, you can carefully trim it away with a sharp knife.

I usually leave it on.

It's easier, faster, and means less cheese goes to waste.

Equipment You'll Need

The equipment list is just as simple as the ingredients.

You'll need:

  • Mini muffin pan
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Small spoon

A 24-cup mini muffin pan is ideal.

If your pan only holds 12 mini muffins, simply bake the bites in two batches.
