2 cups warm water (110°F to 115°F)
2/3 cup white sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter for richer flavor)
5 1/2 to 6 cups bread flour
Instructions:
Activate the Yeast:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water and white sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the water. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes, or until the mixture is frothy.
Add Oil and Salt:
Stir in the vegetable oil (or melted butter) and salt.
Incorporate the Flour:
Gradually add the bread flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Once the dough comes together, transfer it to a floured surface.
