Oyster Stew Recipe


This classic oyster stew is rich, creamy, and brimming with the delicate flavor of fresh oysters. It’s a comforting and elegant dish that’s surprisingly simple to prepare.

Oysters and Liquids:

1 pint (16 oz) fresh shucked oysters, with their liquor
2 cups whole milk, at room temperature
1 cup heavy cream, at room temperature
Seasonings and Garnish:

1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Fresh parsley or chives, chopped, for garnish
