Your skin is your body’s largest organ — and one of its best communicators.
Most moles, freckles, and skin tags are harmless. But sometimes, a small change in color, shape, or texture can signal something more serious — like melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer.
The good news? 👉 When caught early, melanoma is highly treatable.
That’s why knowing what to look for — and when to act — makes all the difference.
Let’s explore the ABCDEs of skin checks, what changes matter most, and how you can protect yourself with simple, regular self-exams.
Because real safety isn’t about panic. It’s about paying attention — one mole at a time.
🔍 What Is a Mole?
Moles (nevi) are clusters of pigment-producing cells (melanocytes). They usually appear during childhood and adolescence and can be:
- Flat or raised
- Round or oval
- Brown, tan, pink, or black
✅ Most people have 10–40 moles — and many last a lifetime without issue.
But when a mole changes, it’s worth a closer look.
